BBC Strictly Come Dancing final three revealed after Nigel Harmans exit

It's been a very dramatic weekend for the Strictly Come Dancing team, following Casualty star Nigel Harman's unexpected exit from the show. To recap, the 50 year old actor was forced to withdraw from the BBC dancing competition after he sustained an injury to his rib while rehearsing for his performance that was scheduled for Saturday night.

Announcing his departure, Nigel expressed his disappointment to host Claudia Winkleman and explained what actually happened.

"I was leaping off a rostrum and was about to be caught by some very handsome men and, as I flew I was Peter Pan and as I landed, I was in A&E. I've done something to my rib and it's quite painful."

Nigel's professional dancing partner Katya Jones also shared her sadness for having to pull out so close to the final. The 34 year old said: "It's quite hard to talk about it, I'm not going to lie. I've absolutely loved every moment of us creating magic on a dancefloor."

She spoke directly to Nigel, adding: "I hope you got something out of this that you're going to cherish forever."

Due to Nigel and Katya no longer being in the running to claim the iconic Strictly glitterball prize, it means that the official finalists have now been 'revealed.' As presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman explained, there was no public vote at the weekend as Nigel had forfeited his place.

Claudia said: "We only have four couples unfortunately Nigel has sustained an injury which means he's unable to perform on tonight's show and he's had to withdraw from the competition.

"We are as devastated as he is but Nigel and Katya will be chatting to us later on in the show. That means there will be no public vote tonight and no elimination this weekend but the judges will still be scoring and those scores will be carried over and you'll be able to vote as usual next week."

Which means that the three couples now in the running for first place are EastEnders star Bobby Brazier and his partner Dianne Buswell, Bad Education actor Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin, and Coronation Street's Ellie Leach and her pro partner Vito Coppola.

All three celebs have impressed the judges and won the hearts of the nation during their stints on the reality show, so as of now, the competition is tight and it's hard to predict who'll go all the way.

Two things we do know are that we hope Nigel has a speedy recovery and we wish the three hopefuls and their partners the very best of luck for the final next weekend!
