This Morning stars cause of death revealed after she suddenly collapsed at home

The cause of death of This Morning star and medical expert Dr Uchenna Okoye, who passed away suddenly at the age of 53, has been confirmed.

The medical expert, who also starred on 10 Years Younger in 10 Days, died on Friday, 15 September.

It has now been revealed that Dr Uchenna lost her life due to a 'subarachnoid haemorrhage' brought on by an aneurysm.

MailOnline reports that Dr Uchenna suffered a sudden ruptured blood vessel, which caused a fatal bleed on the brain.

A family spokesperson told the publication: "Dr Uchenna's sudden death was due to natural causes. We are devastated, and our hearts are broken that her beautiful, full life has been cut so short.

"As a family, our priority right now is to take care of her young daughter and continue her legacy and keep her memory alive. A private celebration of her life will be held in the coming weeks."

Her personal assistant, Mars Webb, also told the Mail how Dr Uchenna had been healthy up until the point of her sudden passing. The TV star, who leaves behind a seven-year-old daughter, had experienced a normal 'busy week' and was 'happy' in the days leading up to her death.

Dr Uchenna had reportedly even enjoyed a trip to the theatre to see the West End musical Moulin Rouge and a business meeting with clients about Mysmile dental product. Following the news of her passing, her fans and colleagues rushed to pay tribute to the health expert.

Celebrity make-up artist Hannah Martin said: "Devastating news. My love and prayers to her family. We will all miss your infectious energy and warmth."

This Morning beauty expert Sarah Jossel wrote: "This is so devastating to hear. My sincere condolences to her family, friends, and colleagues. What a huge, huge loss. She will be missed by so many."

TV presenter Susannah Constantine said she was "shocked and heartbroken." She added: "Prayers to Uchenna's family xxx." Former Loose Women star Andrea McLean commented: "This is the saddest news. Please pass on my love and prayers to her family."

On Friday, 15th, it was confirmed that the dentist had 'fallen ill' while at home, with her representatives issuing a statement.

It read: "It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of the much-loved and respected Cosmetic Dentist, Dr. Uchenna Okoye, who passed away after falling ill at home on Friday, 15th September 2023.

"At this time, we ask for your prayers for her young daughter, her family, her team of staff at London Smiling Dental Group, and her friends who are all struggling to come to terms with her loss. We request that you respect Uchenna’s family’s wishes for privacy at this very difficult time."
