The Chase's Anne Hegerty looks worlds away from The Governess as she glams up for red carpet bash | The Sun

THE Chase star Anne Hegerty looked very different to her telly alter-ego The Governess at a glitzy event last night.

The quiz queen caught the eye in a very colourful outfit for the National Diversity Awards inside Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral.

Anne posed on the red carpet in the vibrant pink and orange dress which she complemented with bright eye shadow and lipstick.

It was all worlds away from the dull, matronly grey of her fearsome Chase persona.

Other household names in attendance included Coronation Street star Katie McGlynn and host Clare Balding.

BBC favourite Clare said on the night: "It's an important spotlight on those who make the world a better place for the full rainbow of society."

While not at the bash, Christine McGuinness was delighted to be crowned Celebrity of the Year, beating Lewis Capaldi and John Barnes.

In a thank you video to fans shared on Instagram, Christine said: "First of all I'm shocked. I can't believe it. I'm so happy and thankful and grateful, but literally can't believe it."

The model and mum-of-three, who has raised awareness around autism through a BBC documentary and children's books, was treated to cheers and applause in a local pub upon learning the news.
