Strictly thrown into chaos as star banned from training with place at risk

Strictly: Ryan Thomas cries at Adam Thomas’ performance

Strictly Come Dancing star Adam Thomas had to miss training with his partner Luba Mushtuk after fighting an illness which could impact other contestants.

The 35-year-old returned to training today (Friday, October 20) but his place in the contest could be at risk as he has missed so many rehearsals.

He took to Instagram earlier this week to share a snap of him lying in bed and captioned the post: “Of all weeks to be poorly”.

“It sounds silly but the winter flu could wipe out Strictly’s stars – and that would be a nightmare,” a source shared.

“Adam was forced to miss training after being ill and is trying to battle through it now.”

“It would be worse if he was to spread it around and being so close with his pro partner Luba means she is more likely to get ill,” the source told The Sun.

“Strictly have been banning the celebs and the pros from training if they’re ill in a bid to stop them from spreading it.”

They added: “Strictly should be about sparkles and sequins – not snot.”

Adam is supposed to be dancing a Couple’s Choice to a Backstreet Boys medley, but admitted training has been hard during an appearance on It Takes Two.

He told host Janette Manrara: “It was a lot to take in, but I feel this is possibly one of the hardest routines I’ve had so far, probably because I am on my own quite a lot.

“Normally I have Luba’s support but for this one, I am on my own quite a lot throughout the dance.

“I am finding it a little bit more difficult than the rest but we are getting there – we are getting there.”

A supportive Luba told him: “It’s really entertaining, it’s the most entertaining dance we have done so far, so I think people will love it.”
