EastEnders fans were left with their jaws on the floor after Freddie Slater appeared to beat Theo to death – and fans noticed “history was repeating itself”.

As viewers will know, Theo has been stalking and harassing Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) for months. And in Tuesday’s episode (October 3) the stalker ramped things up.

Home alone, Stacey almost found herself the victim of sexual assault after Theo broke in with shocking incidents unfolding. Freddie ended up interrupting Theo trying to rape Stacey and quickly attacked him to try to make him stop.

However, consumed with rage Freddie couldn’t stop hitting Theo with an iron – who lay on the floor motionless in a pool of blood. Stacey looked on in horror and feared that Freddie had killed him.

Viewers watching the shocking scenes couldn’t help but notice that Freddie was using an iron – the same weapon his mum Little Mo used to beat Trevor Morgan. Over on X, formerly known as Twitter, one person said: “Like mother like son! Little Mo's heart is in Freddie.”

Someone else added: “The parallels with Freddie attacking Theo (an attempted rapist) with an iron when his mum, Little Mo, also used an iron.” A third quipped: “History repeating itself!”

Another viewer said: “Loved the nod to little mo with the iron. And honestly didn’t think Freddie had that in him one of the rare times I hope it isn’t a dark turn for his character.”

As fans of EastEnders will remember, Freddie's mum Little Mo was abused by husband Trevor Morgan (Alex Ferns). She left him for good in December 2001 after he raped her in shocking scenes.

He later promised to change his ways to win her back. But he soon turned violent when Little Mo tried to leave. Scared that he was going to rape her again, she fought back with an iron.

He survived the attack and unfortunately Little Mo was found guilty of attempted murder. She was later released though after Trevor struck up a deal with the Slaters.
