Beyond Paradise: Humphrey Goodman returns to Caribbean

At this week’s National Television Awards, there was a lovely reunion between three of the actors from the BBC show Beyond Paradise.

Kris Marshall, who plays DI Humphrey Goodman in both Beyond Paradise and the original BBC crime drama Death in Paradise, was joined by two of his co-stars at the glitzy event.

Taking to social media, Dylan Llewellyn, who plays PC Kelby Hartford, shared a series of heartwarming photos from the night itself on his Instagram.

In the very first photo he is seen posing with his Beyond Paradise co-stars, Kris and Zahra Ahmadi, who plays DS Esther Williams, with the second snap being a photo of himself in his sharp all-black ensemble.

Dylan then gave his fans a behind the scenes glimpse into the prestigious awards ceremony as he shared a quick video taken from his front row seat.

The short clip showed Sir Ian McKellan as he took to the stage to present the Special Recognition award that evening, which went to Happy Valley’s Sarah Lancashire.

While the very last snapshot in the Instagram carousel showed Dylan and Zahra playfully posing with their eyes closed, in what looks to be a candid photograph of the pair.

He captioned the social post: “Amazing night at the NTAs last night, thank you to everyone who voted.”

Unfortunately the BBC crime drama lost out on winning the National Television Award for Best New Drama to Netflix’s Wednesday but Beyond Paradise has been a hit with critics and fans alike.

Dylan and Zahra even teased what viewers can expect from the upcoming second series of the spin-off show.

While on the red carpet they both promised some “cracking guest stars” as Zahra continued: “I was properly starstruck with one.”

As for season two itself, she added: “It’s like season one, but upgraded. Some of the episodes have higher stakes.”

She asserted that while it will be “more of the same,” things will also be “amped up”.

Viewers can also expect to get more of an insight into the characters themselves as the upcoming episodes will go “into the backstory” of them.

Beyond Paradise only started airing earlier this year but it was quickly renewed for a second series less than two months later.

At the same time it was also announced that fans would be getting a Christmas Special as well.

Beyond Paradise and Death In Paradise air on BBC One and can be streamed on BBC iPlayer.
