Kirstie Alleys love life – husband with dads name, Travolta romance and affair
Away from the screen, late actress Kirstie Alley had quite the love life in her 71 years.
Best known for starring alongside John Travolta in Look Who's Talking, as well as a stint in iconic US sitcom Cheers as Rebecca Howe, Kirstie passed away a year ago today (December 5) shortly after being diagnosed with cancer. Throughout her life, she was never shy about revealing intimate details of her relationships and brought out a tell-all memoir in 2012 titled The Art Of Men.
In a career spanning 44 years, Kirstie married twice – to Bob Alley in 1971, whom she divorced six years later – and to Parker Stevenson in 1983, with the pair splitting in 1997. Kirstie, who was shunned by Hollywood in the latter stages of her career after declaring her support for Donald Trump in the 2016 and 2020 US elections, was survived by two children, Lillie and True.

Now, join us as we look back at the men in her life – including the aforementioned Travolta as well as Dirty Dancing heartthrob Patrick Swayze and Cheers co-star Ted Danson.
Remaining an Alley
Kirstie's father Robert Alley was born in Wichita 1923 and owned a lumber company. The entrepreneur, who had three children, passed away in the city of his birth in 2007, aged 84. Remarkably, meanwhile, Kirstie would go on to marry another Robert Alley – known as Bob to many, but someone she referred to as Jake.
Discussing the break-up with her high school sweetheart, Kirstie previously explained: "I didn’t have sex, but I think it was worse when you fall in love with someone else, when you’re with someone, and you’re plotting and you’re planning. What I did do with Jake was I kissed him. And in my world, in Kirstie world, that meant I had to get a divorce. … It took a long time [to forgive myself] because I was a horrible person, I destroyed my marriage."
Falling for John Travolta
It was on the set of 1989 movie Look Who's Talking in that Kirstie began to develop feelings for co-star John Travolta. During a 2012 interview with Barbara Walters, Kirstie said: "Believe me, it took everything that I had, inside, outside, whatever, to not run off and marry John and be with John for the rest of my life."
Kirstie, who was married to Parker Stevenson at the time, said she didn't leave her spouse for the 68-year-old because "you're supposed to work hard" at a marriage and "make it work." Following her death, Travolta was quick to pay tribute by posting an image of her on his social media.
The Grease star penned: "Kirstie was one of the most special relationships I’ve ever had. I love you Kirstie. I know we will see each other again."
Patrick Swayze 'emotional affair'
Kirstie and Patrick Swayze met on the set of TV mini-series North and South in 1985 and she later revealed the pair embarked on an "emotional affair." At the time, the Scream Queens star told herself "not to go down this road" as she was married to actor Parker Stevenson while the Dirty Dancing star was married to Lisa Niemi.
Despite their marriages, Kirstie admitted the pair got extremely close and it once went so far that she propositioned him for sex. She pleaded: "I want to make love with you. I just don't care anymore, let's just do it," however the Ghost actor, who passed away in 2009, turned her down.
Speaking about their tryst, Kirstie admitted that despite not having a sexual relationship, what they did was "worse than an affair." She explained: "This man and I never had sex or did sexual things, but I consider what we did more dangerous and a betrayal to our spouses. Because I think when you fall in love with someone when you're married, you jeopardize your own marriage and their marriage. It's doubly bad."
She continued: "We were creating a future together, but we were both married. After Patrick, I made a decision that I was not ever going to involve myself with anyone married."

Co-star fantasy
Kirsty once made the bombshell confession that she previously fantasised about her Cheers co-star Ted Danson's manhood. The fantasy came after she saw him shower while on the NBC sitcom.
She explained: "George Wendt kicked the door open. I snapped the photo of the naked Ted. I swear to God he was well endowed. I would show you the picture, but my hands were shaky."
Two-hour sessions
During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Kirstie once confessed she demanded her partners to have sex with her for at least two hours per day, but told the host that even that wasn't enough to truly satisfy her.
Kirstie explained in 2014: "I really hadn't had a boyfriend for the last ten years – a serious boyfriend. It was the best ten years of my life. I had a lot of freedom. The way I used to pick guys was so shallow. Hot? OK, that'll be my husband."
She went on to add: "Here's my big revelation. I decided that in the best of times you have two hours of sex a day, so you have 22 hours left. There's the prelude, the ex and there's the winding down."
Backseat romp
When Kirstie appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2018, conversations with her fellow housemates often turned to the raunchier side of things. Sat alongside self-proclaimed psychic medium Sally Morgan and ex-Emmerdale actress Roxanne Pallett, the Kansas-born star began the discussion by revealing she once had sex in the backseat of a car after picking her friend up from the airport.
She told the duo: "I was filming a movie and there was a woman, I don’t believe in furs, but she had this amazing sable fur that fell to the floor and I was like would you mind if I wore this to something? And I was naked underneath and I picked my friend up at the airport and then I asked the chauffeur, 'Could you please close the windows?' It was fun just because, you know I’ve read about that sort of thing so I wanted to do it."
