Helen Flanagan admits she doesnt like ex Scott Sinclair but still "loves" him

Helen Flanagan has revealed her and ex Scott Sinclair' s ongoing silence after split last year, and is trying hard to rebuild life without him a year on.

The pair decided to mutually end their 13 year relationship in 2022, after realising they would be happier apart. Their three children – Matilda, eight, Delilah, five, and Charlie, two – are now split between Helen's home near Manchester, and Scott's home in Bristol – nearly 200 miles away.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun, Helen admitted the distance has been difficult, but her kids have taken it better than she'd ever dreamed. Little Matilda, despite only being eight, possesses a maturity far beyond her years, according to the 33-year-old.

The Sun reported that when Helen revealed to her daughter that her and Scott were now "just friends", Matilda replied wisely, "Is that because you’re just not compatible?" For Helen, this was right on the nose, and she appreciated her daughter's understanding.

Although Scott and Helen are successfully co-parenting their three children, Scott's job as winger for EFL League One club Bristol Rovers, means things aren't always a 50/50 split. The actress explained, “He knows I’m always flexible about him seeing [the kids]. Whenever he wants to see them, I try to accommodate that.”

The split doesn't seem to be in bad blood, though. Although Helen has admitted the pair don't "like" each other at the moment, she admits there's still a lot of "love" left between the two of them.

The decision to spit was ultimately one that was chosen for the good of their children. Helen explained, "I want them to see healthy relationships and to be in healthy environments."

Most of the communication, according to Helen, is done through the children – as the pair currently "don't speak". But the closeness between the ex-lovers and each other's parents beckons the hope of a better relationship between the feuding pair.

Neither of the unhappy ex-couple have directly revealed why they decided to call it quits, but Helen has emphasised that there is no one direct cause. Various things, such as her post-natal depression, led to the pair growing apart.

Now, rumour has it, Helen is not only returning to the dating scene, but also might be returning to the TV screen, according to The Sun. This is a dramatic change from Helen's life earlier this year, when she revealed she'd put the kids to bed "and just start crying".

The starlet has traded loneliness for self-love, focusing on her own self, and her children as her "number one priority."
