Coleen Rooney has declared that taking to socials with her expose about Rebekah Vardy was the "only way" to do it.
Rooney and Vardy became embroiled in a legal battle in 2019 after Rooney accused Vardy of leaking private information about her to The Sun. Eight months after Rooney's post, Vardy launched a Ā£1m High Court defamation lawsuit against her over the accusations.

After an ongoing legal battle, in July 2022, Vardy lost her High Court libel case against Rooney. In the year since it ended, the case has gathered the attention of the public and has been turned into a drama series alongside Rooney's own documentary.
As it launches on Disney+, Rooney shared what really happened behind the decision to post. After setting traps to confirm if her suspicions were correct, she was so angry she wanted to "do something about it".
On Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story, she said: "I was angry, I thought, 'I've had enough of this. I'm gonna do something about it.' Part of me wanted to just say it there and then. But the way it had been done to me was so sneaky, it was cheeky.
"No one had come to me to say we're gonna give this information to the press, are you ok about that? I warned time after time to stop doing this to me."
Coleen had explained how she'd put posts up saying she knew someone was leaking her private information, but the leaks continued. She added: "I didn't pick up the phone to Rebekah because she never respected me in that way and she'd deny it and make a story out of that. I didn't want to give her the opportunity to do that."
She explained that she felt the "only way" she could go about it was to put it on social media and give it to everyone at the same time. Rooney even said she'd given a slight heads-up to Vardy beforehand through a cryptic post on Instagram.
The post read: "Don't play games with a girl who can play better," and the following day she picked up her normal routine and headed to breakfast. She sat by herself and wrote out the post and sent it.
However, she admitted nothing could have prepared her for what came next. Vardy rang her furious with the claims and still vehemently denies them.
The court case erupted and gathered the attention of the UK, and after almost two years of a legal battle, Vardy lost the case. She said afterwards that she was "extremely sad and disappointed at the decision".
