BBC Strictlys Dianne Buswells life off screen from soap star ex to Joe Sugg romance
For fans of the BBC dance competition, every weekend from now until mid-December will be marked by the glitz and glamour of the ballroom, the biting comments of notoriously tough judge Craig Revel Horwood, charming hosting by Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly, and the tension of Sunday night results shows.
As well as the celeb stars, fans of the show can't wait for the return of our much-loved Strictly professionals, including the talented Dianne Buswell.
Dianne joined the show back in 2017 and has gone on to have some pretty successful routines and celebrity partners, including her now-boyfriend Joe Sugg, who she reached the final with back in 2018.
But what do we know about the Australian dancer's life off screen? We take a look at Dianne's rise to fame…
Who is Dianne Buswell?
Dianne, 34, is a former Australian Open champion and four-time Amateur Australian Open finalist.
She and her brother, Andrew Buswell, were Western Australian Open Adult New Vogue champions for 2008 and 2010. She also appeared on So You Think You Can Dance Australia.
In 2015, she was a professional dancer on the fifteenth season of Australia's Dancing with the Stars.
In 2017 she joined BBC's Strictly, with her first partner on the show being Reverend Richard Coles. They were the second couple eliminated on the series.
Dianne has also been paired with the likes of Joe Sugg, DJ Dev Griffin, Max George, Robert Webb and Tyler West.
As well as Strictly, Dianne has a successful social media career after starting a YouTube channel in March 2019. In December of that year, she was named as the UK's most-subscribed new YouTuber of 2019.
Who is Dianne Buswell dating?
Dianne was previously in a relationship with Emmerdale star Anthony Quinlan.
The couple, who had been dating for ten months, briefly took a break from their relationship in 2018 ā however, things later ended for good.
A source told The Sun at the time: "They are quite a fiery pair and have been clashing a bit more than often lately."
They added: "Thereās not bad blood between them but it looks like a reconciliation is off the cards this time."
Anthony later spoke out on the breakup, telling the Daily Star: "We're still really good friends – it's just distance played a part," he explained. "There were all these rumours about the Strictly curse but it wasn't that."
"I'm actually rooting for Joe and Dianne. They're doing absolutely amazing in strictly and I still think the world of the girl. We were really close, it just wasn't meant to be."
In December 2018 Dianne confirmed she was in a relationship with her Strictly partner, YouTube sensation Joe Sugg. Joe posted on Instagram: "I may not have won the glitter ball, but Iāve won something a million times more special."
A year later the couple moved in together, with Joe later heading to Australia to meet Dianne's family.
Speaking about the future the couple, who recently bought a stunning home together, said "Never say never," when it comes to engagement rumours, with Joe adding: "It's not in our plans just yet."
