Toxic ‘Tonight Show?’
Jimmy Fallon is accused of fostering a “toxic workplace” at “The Tonight Show” in a new expose, with 16 current and former employees telling Rolling Stone they experienced bullying, intimidation and “chaos” on the set. While some claims target producers and showrunners, others revolve around Jimmy’s allegedly unpredictable behavior at work. According to the employees, none of whose names were published, the late-night host had “good days” and “bad days” and a habit of taking his bad moods out on underlings, some of whom alleged Jimmy was drunk or hungover on bad days.
The host is also accused of having publicly “scolded” a crew member who was handling his cue cards during a Jerry Seinfeld appearance. “It was very awkward, and Jerry was like, ‘You should apologize to him,’ almost trying to make it a joke,” claimed a former employee. “It was one of the strangest moments ever and so many people were there, so it’s kind of hard to forget.”
Following the story’s publication on Sept. 7, however, Jerry called the anecdote an “idiotic twisting of events” in a statement to Rolling Stone. “This is so stupid,”he told the outlet. “I remember this moment quite well… I teased Jimmy about a flub, and we all had a fun laugh about how rarely Jimmy is thrown off. It was not uncomfortable at all. Jimmy and I still occasionally recall it and laugh.” NBC said in a statement that when employees have raised concerns on the show, those issues were “investigated and action has been taken where appropriate.”
Others have also denied the allegations since the story was published. A show assistant contacted by ET the piece “completely misrepresents the atmosphere.” Citing a “show source,” Page Six reported the vibe on set has improved “significantly” since Chris Miller took over as showrunner.

Plastic surgery denial
Kelly Osbourne is shutting down claims she went under the knife nine months after she welcomed her first child. “I’ve never had any procedure like plastic surgery,” Kelly, 38, told the Daily Mail in an interview published Sept. 5. “I’ve done Botox, that’s it,” she said later in the conversation. “It’s weird because now that I’ve lost weight, everybody is criticizing and trying to figure out what it is that I’ve done, and I really just lost weight. It’s just the shape of my face.” Though she admitted she’d be interested in other procedures when she’s older, Kelly said she’s “too scared.” Her mom, Sharon Osbourne — who’s said she lost weight with the diabetes drug Ozempic — was seated next to her and agreed.
It’s not the first time Kelly’s denied plastic surgery claims, largely stemming from comments on social media. The TV star underwent gastric sleeve surgery in 2018, shedding a large amount of weight in the years that followed. That weight loss also made her face appear more chiseled, she told Instagram users in a video in 2021. “[I’ve] never done anything to my face other than a couple of injections in my lips, in my jaw and in my forehead here,” she said in the post. “Can’t you just be happy for me?” she asked in the caption.

Love, marriage and trauma
Looking back on the end of her marriage to Liam Hemsworth, Miley Cyrus now sees she was prioritizing her career at the expense of her personal needs. The singer, 30, recalled the moment she knew the marriage was over in her new “Used To Be Young” TikTok series, detailing how and why she knew the day of her Glastonbury performance in June 2019 that she had to move on from her decade-long romance with the actor. She and Liam had only been married a few months at that point, having tied the knot in December 2018 after losing their home in the wildfires that ravaged California that November.
“Me and Liam’s commitment to being married, of course came from a place of love first because we had been together for 10 years, but also from a place of trauma and just trying to rebuild as quickly as we could. The day of the [Glastonbury] show was the day I had decided it was no longer going to work in my life to be in that relationship,” Miley recalled in the Sept. 6 post.
“That was another moment where the work, the performance, the character came first,” she added. “I guess that’s why it’s now so important to me for that not to be the case. That the human comes first.”
30 years to life
On Sept. 7, “That ’70s Show” star Danny Masterson was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for the rapes of two women in 2003, the Associated Press reported.Danny, who played Steven Hyde on the long-running sitcom, was found guilty in May 2023 on two of three rape counts he was facing after a 2022 trial ended with a deadlocked jury and was declared a mistrial. Both of the women Danny was convicted of assaulting gave statements before the sentencing. “When you raped me, you stole from me,” said one woman, per the AP. “That’s what rape is, a theft of the spirit. You are pathetic, disturbed and completely violent. The world is better off with you in prison.”
Attending the sentencing in a suit with his wife Bijou Phillips, Danny reportedly waived his right to speak. His sentence was “the maximum allowed by law,” according to the outlet.
Tour postponed
Bruce Springsteen has paused his tour to take care of his health. The 73-year-old E Street Band frontman “is being treated for symptoms of peptic ulcer disease” and has been advised by doctors to postpone his upcoming September performances, he announced Sept. 6. With no shows on the books for October, The Boss is now slated to return to the stage Nov. 3 in Vancouver.
“Over here on E Street, we’re heartbroken to have to postpone these shows,” Bruce told fans on Instagram. “First, apologies to our fabulous Philly fans who we missed a few weeks ago. We’ll be back to pick these shows up and then some. Thank you for your understanding and support. We’ve been having a blast at our US shows and we’re looking forward to more great times. Lightsaber revelations
Turns out even the adult stars of “Star Wars” can be reduced to fanboys in the presence of a lightsaber. In a recent interview for the “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend” podcast, Liam Neeson admitted that while shooting 1999’s “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace,” he and Ewan MacGregor had to be told to knock off the “vvvvrrmmmmmmm” sounds once they got the franchise’s iconic glowing energy swords in their hands. “The first time we actually had to use the lightsaber to start a little fight … We both automatically [made the noises],” Liam recalled, making the weapon’s signature sound. Director George Lucas soon put a stop to their fun. “George said, ‘Let’s cut there. Boys, we can add that in later,'” he said, according to Variety.
Of course, Liam and Ewan aren’t the only grown men prone to regressing in the name of The Force. Asked if he still gets asked for autographs, Liam said he does — and it’s often not by “the kid” but by “the father” or “the grandfather:” “They become 11-year-olds.”
