Boy George urges escort he restrained with handcuffs to get on with his life

I’m A Celeb: Scarlette questions Boy George on court case

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star Boy George has urged the model and escort he restrained with handcuffs to “get on with his life” in his new book Karma: My Autobiography.

In December 2008, the Victims singer was convicted of assault and false imprisonment following an incident that had happened in April of the previous year.

At the time, Snaresbrook Crown Court heard how the star had handcuffed Norwegian model and escort Audun Carlsen to a wall fixture, before beating him with a metal chain.

The escort had originally visited ITV reality star George to do some modelling in a photography session.

In his autobiography, Boy George spoke about his subsequent stint in prison, admitting that “nothing on this earth” could prepare him for the news that he was to be incarcerated.

Explaining that his and Carlsen’s testimonies have “never matched up”, he shared his own version of events.

“He said in court, on oath, that I attacked him because he wouldn’t sleep with me,” Boy George wrote.

“I have always said that I had paid for his company, but he wasn’t my type and I did not find him attractive.”

He continued: “As I told the police, I pushed him onto the bed and handcuffed him because he wouldn’t leave. I don’t know what I was thinking, I wasn’t in my right mind, but I know that’s all I did.

“It was stupid, aggressive and regrettable but it was less than 30 seconds before he pulled himself free and ran out of the flat and down Ravey Street in his white vest and underwear.”

The musician went on to insist: “He hates me, but I beg him to get on with his life. I was wrong and I am sorry but, at some point, I must move on.

“So, I move on now. I’m not an evil queen just an idiot who did too many drugs and made a massive mistake.”

Boy George was sentenced to 15 months in jail on January 16, 2009, but was released early after four months on May 11, 2009.

For the remainder of his sentence, the Karma Chameleon singer was under a strict curfew and required to wear an ankle monitor.
