Christine Lampard emerges as front-runner to host This Morning
Christine Lampard is said to have emerged as a front-runner for the This Morning job.
It comes after host Holly Willoughby quit last month after 14 years fronting the flagship ITV show. Bosses are now expected to “hold auditions” to find a permanent replacement.
Now The Sun claims Northern Irish star Christine could be one of the favourites to take on the role. She has previously presented ITV’s breakfast show Daybreak and co-hosted The One Show during a stint with Adrian Chiles.
The 44-year-old currently serves as a stand-in for Lorraine Kelly and also appears on Loose Women.

A senior TV source said: “Christine is popular with viewers and was a huge success when she covered Holly’s maternity leave. She’s an ITV talent and very well liked by executives as she’s so hard-working and friendly.
“She’s an absolute pro when it comes to interviewing and is comfortable with everyone, from politicians to pop stars and takes live TV in her stride. Christine is really happy with her current set-up, working across several different shows, but is always open to new opportunities.”
Mum-of-two Christine is married for former Chelsea and England midfielder Frank Lampard. Speaking about juggling parenting and TV work, she previously said: “It’s just logistics. I’m relatively lucky that I’m not working every single day.”

Holly sensationally quit This Morning last month, revealing her decision in an Instagram post.
Posting a statement to her 8.5 million followers, Holly, 42, wrote: “I have let ITV know today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to This Morning.
“To everyone who has ever worked on the show over the years, thank you so so much. This is such a difficult goodbye, you are incredible and I forever will be proud of what we’ve done together. Thank you to everyone at ITV for being supportive. To every guest who has sat on our sofa, thank you.”
Co-host Phillip Schofield, 61, quit ITV earlier this year after admitting to an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a much younger colleague. The move came after weeks of speculation about his strained relationship with Holly.
