BBC Strictly’s Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell look downcast at studio after ‘emotional week’
It’s not been an easy week for Strictly Come Dancing stars Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell, after the couple failed to impress the judges on Saturday night with their Tango set to Fashion by David Bowie – and it appears the sour mood continues.
Three days on from their lacklustre performance and now well into Week Five of the competition, the couple were spotted leaving a rehearsal studio looking downcast – a far cry from their usual jovial selves.
Concerned fans have been asking if everything is okay as the pair referred to an 'emotional week'.
Up until the fourth live show of the series, Bobby and Dianne had gone from strength to strength with their impressive performances, with all four of the judges having praised Bobby for being a natural ballroom dancer.
However, things took a turn for the worst on Saturday, when the pair failed to deliver the desired performance, prompting many fans at home to notice that something was ‘off’ about the couple’s chemistry and dynamic.
Clearly deflated by the critical comments from the judges, the couple both appeared to be emotional at the end of the performance, with Bobby revealing it had been an “emotional” week for them both.
Whilst chatting to Claudia on the performers' balcony after their dance attempt, Aussie dancer Dianne – who has been in a relationship with social media sensation Joe Sugg since they were paired together for the 2018 series – broke town in tears, dubbing Bobby, 20, her "rock".
"He has just been a massive rock this week, so thank you," she gushed, before her voice trembled, her eyes filled with tears and she leaned in to hug Bobby's chest.
It was then that Bobby also admitted to having been "so so emotional all week", despite having repeatedly received high praise from the judges and public.
Following the unusual display of emotion from the couple, many fans were quick to race to social media after the fourth live show to express their concern over what exactly was happening behind the scenes.
Several fans even expressed concern that Dianne and Joe’s relationship may have hit the rocks, something that Joe was more than happy to confirm was not the case, as was Dianne herself as she clarified that her relationship was “stronger than ever”.
Despite having a less than perfect week, Bobby and Dianne will once again be taking to the dance floor this weekend as they try to restore their high score streak by performing a graceful Viennese Waltz to Golden Hour by JVKE.
Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturday 21 October at 6.35pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
