BBC EastEnders fans delighted as two characters make shock return
EastEnders fans were in for a treat as two beloved characters, Chatham and Riley Taylor, made a surprise return to Walford after being away for three years.
The young brothers, who are the sons of Karen Taylor (played by Lorraine Stanley) and half-brothers to Keanu Taylor (portrayed by Danny Walters), had been sent to live with their dad during lockdown in 2020.
The boys, both living with Neurofibromatosis, hadn't been seen since then but returned to celebrate their mum's birthday.
In Monday's episode, Mitch Baker (played by Roger Griffiths) threw a surprise birthday party for Karen at The Queen Vic, inviting all their family, including his daughter Bailey Baker (Kara-Leah Fernandes), and grandchildren Mackenzie (Isaac Lemonius) and Mia Atkins (Mahalia Malcolm).
As the Taylors got ready for Karen's surprise party, Mia entered the pub and couldn't hide her excitement at seeing her uncles Chatham (Alfie Jacobs) and Riley (Tom Jacobs).
"Chatham, Riley", she said excitedly while Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) was busy hanging up decorations.
Keanu and his soon-to-be wife, Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) also made a grand entrance to the party, despite Keanu not currently on speaking terms with his mum.
He also didn't greet his half-brothers who were eagerly waiting at the table.
When Karen entered the pub, she was overjoyed to see her two youngest sons ready to celebrate her birthday. She immediately hugged them tightly and said: "Chatham, Riley, my boys", as they all shared a warm hug.
EastEnders fans were thrilled to see the Taylor brothers back in Walford. One fan wrote on X: "Chatham and Riley are in EastEnders tonight. It's been three years! They're enormous!.".
Another asked: "Where have Chatham and Riley been? #EastEnders."
Elsewhere in Walford, Suki Panesar was relieved to return home and find her goodbye letter to her husband, Nish Panesar, had not been opened.
However, she was startled when Nish started to question her about what she had been up to, and what was in the letter.
She lied and tried to get rid of it, but things soon got worse when she found out that Priya had read the letter and knew that she was planning on leaving Nish.
As a result, Suki offered to pay Priya a whopping £2,000 to keep it quiet, but Priya came back and demanded an extra £1,000.
Suki reluctantly agreed and handed over stolen money from the call centre.
