Angela Scanlon left absolutely furious over BBC producers insulting remark
Angela Scanlon gives Strictly Come Dancing update
Strictly Come Dancing star Angela Scanlon was left “furious” over a BBC producer’s alleged comments aimed at her when she fronted Robot Wars.
The Irish broadcaster hosted the programme alongside Dara O’Briain between 2016 and 2018 and it was aired on BBC Two.
The competition saw robots go head to head in combat fights after being made by creators.
Angela has claimed she was dealing with an infuriating matter behind the scenes.
During an interview on Tiffanie Darke’s podcast Fashion as a Force for Good, the 39-year-old said Robot Wars was a “big gig” for her.

“It was Sunday night, eight o’clock, a big entertainment show and I had wild impostor syndrome,” she explained. “So I felt very nervous about the actual doing of the job.”
She claimed a producer on the show perceived her as the “glamour”, despite Angela being “very clear” about her “strengths and ability”.
Angela said she had a “sense” of the way the producer in question regarded her but she later received a phone call from a friend who allegedly informed her the producer referred to her as the “t*ts and teeth” of Robot Wars.

Angela said she was “absolutely furious” over the incident during her podcast interview.
“The next meeting I had with this person, there was a conversation less around the content – which in my mind was my job – and more around what are you thinking you’ll wear? I was like, ‘That’s not important,'” she exclaimed.
The presenter also said there was “absolutely no way in hell” she’d walk around an industrial estate in a mini skirt.
“It felt so reductive and so presumptuous that I would have arrived with my lippie on and my legs out to entertain the lads, and that was my value. Absolutely not,” she stated.
The star said she made sure her skin wasn’t on show and wore a boiler suit for the programme.
Express.co.uk has contacted the BBC for comment on Angela’s claims.
Strictly Come Dancing returns on September 16 on BBC One.
