Im 38 but my boyfriend is two feet taller – we wont let trolls break us
A couple get trolled because of their height difference – but say the haters only bring them closer together.
Cait, 22, who has achondroplasia, met Guy, 32, in May 2022 after exchanging messages on Facebook. The couple fell for each other but it didn't take long for trolls to comment on their height difference.
While Cait is 3ft 8ins, Guy is up to two foot taller, but the height difference doesn't bother them. In fact, Cait said working to fight the nasty comments only brings them closer together.

Cait, from Gloucestershire, said: "Initially some of my close friends and family doubted Guy’s love for me. Some of my friends were worried Guy was exploiting me in some way or another. He seemed too good to be true.
"There's this view that people like me cannot get a boyfriend like Guy, so it was a bit bizarre for some people to understand. In past relationships I’ve had some really awful experiences where I feel like I’ve been used, so my friends were rightly unsure about Guy and cautious.
"Online we’ve had some really horrible comments aimed at me about my appearance which we try to ignore. The worst comments we’ve had are people accusing Guy of having a fetish and that’s why he’s into me."
Even though it can hurt to read such comments, the lovebirds just ignore it as they know they're a strong couple. Cait claimed the negativity brought them closer together, and comes in handy as Guy can reach the top shelf.
Luckily, after meeting Guy, Cait's family have also been nothing but supportive. Her parents really get on with him, and love seeing her in such a happy and stable relationship.
"Both of them are very happy that we’ve found each other," she added. "Guy and my dad will often spend time together as they’ve created a really close bond already.
"Despite my friends being cautious initially, as soon as they met him they loved him and could see he had good intentions. On social media we do also get nice comments about my appearance and people supporting us being together."
Cait continued: "One moment that really sticks out for me, and felt a bit like a turning point, was a recent interaction we had in a store. An elderly lady came up to me and said ‘you’ve got the best looking guy in here' and it just made me feel amazing about myself, but us too.
"We’re so content with our lives right now."
Cait also shared advice for anyone else who has previously had negative experiences in relationships. She claimed it's important to go with your gut, as it never lies.
As well as this, the key is to be careful and not to worry about other people's opinions. You have to focus on you.
She added: "As long as you’re both happy together nothing else matters."
