Full list of 10 new Poundland stores opening on 'super Saturday' including former Wilko locations | The Sun
POUNDLAND is opening 10 new stores this weekend – in what has been billed as a "super Saturday" of store openings.
The discount retailer has confirmed that three of those stores will replace former Wilko locations.
The retailer has already opened dozens of new stores in the first half of this year.
It comes after the chain opened 87 new stores, 64 of them former Wilko's, in just 70 days.
Stores will open up in London, Birmingham, Falkirk and Sligo will be part of Poundland's "organic growth campaign".
Plymouth, Cumbernaud, and Wells will also be welcoming the budget outlet to their towns.

Meanwhile, a further three former Wilko locations will begin their Poundland journeys this weekend, bringing the total number of rapid Wilko-to-Poundland conversions to 64.
The shops will mostly include Poundland items but also a selection of Wilko products that weren't sold during the closing-down sales.

to customers, existing and new.

Of the 10 new stores this weekend, seven are part of Poundland’s organic growth programme in the following places:
Here's the full list of Poundland seven shops opening as part of the retailer's "organic growth campaign" this Saturday:
- Falkirk (relocation)
- Wood Green, London (relocation)
- Sligo
- Wells
- The Fort Shopping Park, Birmingham
- Plymouth (relocation)
- Cumbernauld (relocation)
A further three will be Wilko-to-Poundland conversions. These are in:
- Chester
- Swindon
- Fareham
It comes after the former chairwoman of Wilko apologised to the thousands of people who lost their jobs when the retailer went bust.
Speaking to MPs on the Business and Trade Committee, Lisa Wilkinson also said former prime minister Liz Truss's mini-budget was one of the reasons behind the company's collapse in August this year.
