Richard Mille's RM 037 Collection Exudes Technicality, Innovation, and Eclectic Design
This season, Richard Mille shines a light on the icons of the RM 037 line – the ceramic, the red gold and the Gold Carbon TPT® models.
A true sentiment of its commitment to crafting ladies’ timepieces, the RM 037 watch embodies the brand’s technical flair whilst providing a slim-line body and strap. Of the model’s most distinctive features, there is a skeletonized movement baseplate hosting three settings, a protective crown system and an automatic winding caliber CRMA1, pieced together within the emblematic tonneau case shape. Paying close attention to mechanical detailing as well as its overall look, the timepiece boasts end-to-end innovation that can be seen through succeeding Richard Mille models.
Since its initial release in 2014, the RM 037 has undergone a number of design adaptations as a way for Richard Mille to playfully interpret the unique composition. The toothsome Bonbon model, released in 2019, is arguably the most daring adaptation to date, taking the model into a new realm of horology. “For me, it was an opportunity to let loose and have fun revisiting my childhood,” explains Cécile Guenat, director of creation and development at Richard Mille. “Nonetheless, it was an ambitiously daring project entailing 18 months of development that stayed entirely faithful to the spirit of Richard Mille – a brand that’s not afraid to break with tradition.”
However, in the curated collection, it’s the Gold Carbon TPT® that stands out with its fusion of the composite material and precious metal. As well as lending a lightweight-yet-durable quality to the watch, the mix of materials lends a hybrid look that balances dark damascene patterns with the glow of gold leaves throughout.
Alongside the Gold Carbon TPT® version, the collection also features two sleeker takes on the RM 037 including the ceramic bezel iteration and the red gold with studded gemstones timepiece. The white ceramic bezel RM 037 presents a polished and sophisticated look. Reinforced by a high-scratch resistant layer and thin red gold caseband, it perfectly lends to wearability in every setting. Meanwhile, the snow set red gold version subscribes to a more overstated feel. Upon the red gold casing, rows of diamonds are set around a face that features onyx, mother-of-pearl or jasper ornamental stones.
Through showcasing the three eclectic designs side by side, Richard Mille demonstrates how the RM 037 line provides a versatile template for continued advancement in functionality as well as aesthetics. Take a closer look at the curated RM 037 collection in the gallery now.
