Gumtree Golf & Nature Club Presents Its First Essentials Collection

We’ve written here about Gumtree Golf & Nature Club before. With everything the brand does there’s a considered and measured approach that feels like such a breath of fresh air in a market that is becoming ever more saturated with new stuff. Gumtree‘s solution to that, up until now, has been old stuff.

Limited releases of upcycled gear have featured things like vintage state flower patches sewn on to linen shirts, headcovers made of old farm tents and bucket hats built from heirloom quilts. Now it’s time for something a little bigger though, and Just Out For a Walk represents the NYC-based brand’s first collection of core essentials.

Gumtree’s signature deep green and off-white, reminiscent of hues found on the golf course, set the understated tone of the collection as a whole. A matching sweatpants and sweatshirt combination features a simple flourish of logo patch branding and Just Out For a Walk monochromatic embroidery, and we also get long sleeve shirts with the same theme.

A curious set of accessories is where the collection really comes to life though. First up is a hand painted wooden and steel bird caller, which pairs well with a limited run of vintage Japanese binoculars and original Birds of America books dating from the 60s and 70s. What does any of this have to do with golf, you ask? It all comes back to GGNC’s vision of golf as a way to get outside and enjoy nature. Naturally, you can’t have a pair of binoculars without a good case, and the brand is supplying just that in the form of a collaboration with Sentinel Golf. Complete with a paracord strap and durable X-PAC fabric, it doubles as a rangefinder case.
