21 Savage Reportedly Planning International Tour
21 Savage is reportedly planning his first international tour since his immigration problems in 2019.
The first hint comes from Drake’s “8AM IN CHARLOTTE” cut where he confirms that “Savage got a green card straight out of the consulate,” while a source tells Billboard that he is currently in the process of plotting his international engagement. Additional details such as the tour’s exact months, countries and any supporting acts are yet to be announced. 21 is also slated to join Drake for the end of his ongoing It’s All A Blur tour, which will land in Drizzy’s hometown of Toronto, Canada — possibly hinting that the i am > i was artist can legally travel outside of the United States.
21 was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials in February 2019 for being “unlawfully present” in the United States as his visa had expired in 2006 — one year after he arrived in the country from the United Kingdom, where he was born. He was eventually released, however the immigration process was further delayed in 2021 as Atlanta prosecutors announced criminal charges against the rapper for drugs and a handgun that were found during his February 2019 arrest. However, a spokeswoman for the DeKalb County, Georgia district attorney confirmed to Billboard that the case is officially closed. “While there was probable cause to make an arrest, after further investigation was completed and information was provided by the defense, the state did not believe it could prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt,” the DA office rep said.
