Anita Rani reveals she feels ‘sexier than ever’ and that being single is ‘liberating’ following split from her husband of 14 years
Anita Rani has revealed she feels ‘sexier than ever’ as she opened up about life as a single woman in a candid new interview.
The television presenter, 45, split from her husband of 14 years Bhupi Rehal back in September.
But now she has said being single feels ‘liberating’ and that she is now ‘blossoming’ after becoming the ‘woman she always wanted to be’ in her 40s.
It comes after she wowed in a very racy black dress as she attended the Glamour Women of the Year Awards earlier this month flashing plenty of flesh.
She told The Sun of her new approach to life: ‘I always knew I’d get to my 40s and become who I wanted to be. It’s when I’d start blossoming.

‘I’m going to get sexier as I get older. It’s liberating that people know that I’m single now.
‘Not everything works out and things come to their natural conclusion, and that is absolutely fine. There’s no shame attached to being single and living your best life in your 40s.
‘I’m single, I’m child-free, I’m in my mid-40s and I have never felt better, sexier, more powerful or more excited about the future.’
She added that she is now exercising her choice to do what the ‘hell I want’ and that makes her feel empowered, before adding she is having an ‘awakening’.
When asked if she is back on the dating scene she said she is happy being single at the moment and is concentrating on her female friendships.
The broadcaster and her husband of 14 years, tech company owner partner Bhupi, are said to have split in September after their busy schedules kept them apart.
Anita and Bhupi first met at a rave in east London and married in a traditional Sikh ceremony back in 2009.
A source told the Daily Mirror at the time: ‘It’s really sad but they’ve decided to separate.

‘Their hectic schedules over the past couple of years have sadly meant they’ve drifted apart over time. They remain on very good terms and wish nothing but the best for one another.’
In a recent interview, Anita told how she’s stopped ‘people pleasing’ after being being put ‘in a box’ for much of her life.
Speaking to Yahoo News, Anita – born in Bradford to Indian parents – told of the pressure she felt to settle down after it was instilled that marriage and children equals success, remarking that the notion is ‘drip fed to you’.
She said: ‘How many of us are making choices based on what we actually want to do? and how many of us are doing it because it’s what’s expected of us? And those are the things that I’m personally grappling with.’
The presenter told how she began ‘second guessing’ what people wanted after watching women in her life facilitate everyone before themselves.
Anita went on to say that her 40s were very ‘transitional’ and she started to not ‘give a f*** as much’ as she felt more ’empowered’ and ‘confident’ within herself.
She shared: ‘I think at some point, you wake up and realise it’s time to make myself happy, because I think women do look after everybody, whether that’s because that’s what society expects, or whether it’s your parents or your husband or your children.
‘You realise that it’s a bit of a waste of time trying to please other people. And once you find who you are, and you walk into a room authentically, valuing who you are – that’s a sensational feeling.’
Happy: She told The Sun of her new approach to life: ‘I always knew I’d get to my 40s and become who I wanted to be. It’s when I’d start blossoming’
The TV host previously told how the couple had a good marriage, saying: ‘He’s great and we have a great life. It’s like any marriage: you have to work at it.’
In the past, Anita opened up about suffering a devastating miscarriage in 2018, telling The Times: ‘I’m much better at self-care and I ask myself more questions about how I want to live my life.
‘I’m also more willing to be vulnerable, like talking about the miscarriage I had in 2018.
‘Vulnerability used to scare the s*** out of me, but it has been liberating to share my personal story and see the response.’
