POUNDLAND is opening 10 new stores this weekend – in what has been billed as a "super Saturday" of store openings.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0discount retailer\u00a0has confirmed that three of those stores will replace former Wilko locations.<\/p>\n


\n<\/p>\n

The retailer has\u00a0already opened dozens of new stores\u00a0in the first half of this year.<\/p>\n

It comes after the chain opened 87 new stores, 64 of them former Wilko's, in just 70 days.<\/p>\n

Stores will open up in London, Birmingham, Falkirk and Sligo will be part of Poundland's "organic growth campaign".<\/p>\n

Plymouth, Cumbernaud, and Wells will also be welcoming the budget outlet to their towns.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, a further three former Wilko locations will begin their Poundland journeys this weekend, bringing the total number of rapid Wilko-to-Poundland conversions to 64. <\/p>\n

The shops will mostly include Poundland items but also a selection of\u00a0Wilko\u00a0products that weren't sold during the closing-down sales.<\/p>\n

Austin Cooke, Poundland\u2019s managing director said: \u201cWe excitedly continue to open and relocate stores at pace so we can bring our best offer, including all-new clothing, chilled and frozen food
to customers, existing and new.<\/p>\n
