Google Meet is making it easier for users to participate in meetings. The video meeting platform has gotten a new AI tool to make raising one\u2019s hand just a bit more natural.<\/p>\n
Participants previously had to click on a hand icon in order to indicate that they wanted to speak during a meeting. Google has streamlined the action with a new form of \u201cgesture detection,\u201d in which a user can physically raise their hand to trigger the icon.<\/p>\n
To set it off, the user must raise their hand in front of the camera, making sure the entire hand is visible to the camera and away from the face and body. Once they\u2019re given the chance to speak, the hand raise indicator will disappear from the screen, signaling that they\u2019re no longer waiting to talk.<\/p>\n
There\u2019s no admin control for the feature but for those interested in trying it out for themselves, the tool will automatically be turned off by default. Users can head to \u201cMore options\u201d in their Google Meet settings, where they\u2019ll find it under the \u201cReactions\u201d setting.<\/p>\n
