Danny Brown has dropped off his new album, Quaranta<\/em>. Following his joint LP with JPEGMAFIA, Scaring the Hoes.<\/em> Quaranta, however, is actually the sequel to Brown\u2019s XXX<\/em>, the 2013 project that cemented him as a Detroit rap legend.<\/p>\n While the project was initially intended to be called XXXX<\/em>, the rapper had created it largely over the course of the pandemic lockdown, and told Apple Music 1 that Quaranta<\/em> sounded similar to \u201cquarantine.\u201d<\/p>\n Quaranta<\/em> is relatively compact for a full-length album \u2013 11 songs long but just under 35 minutes of playtime. Still, in that brief half hour or so, Brown is at his deepest, unpacking themes of addiction, hitting rock bottom and eventually going sober. He\u2019s described the LP as his “most personal” project to date.<\/p>\n Along with the rapper\u2019s hard-hitting bars, he employed the talents of The Alchemist, Quelle Chris, Skywlkr and Paul White.
