The Beatles recently a music video for “Now And Then,” which has been called the last song by the legendary band.

The video, featuring previously unseen archival footage and new visual effects, was directed by Peter Jackson.

“To be honest, while we hope we’ve given the Beatles a suitable final farewell, that’s something you’ll need to decide for yourselves when it’s finally released,” Jackson said. “Having got to the end, I’m very happy I’m not waiting for the release of somebody else’s ‘Now and Then’ music video. I have genuine pride in what we made, and I’ll cherish that for years to come.”

In addition to the new music video, CD, vinyl and cassette copies of “Now And Then” also debuted last Friday.

The song will be included on Beatles’ expanded Red And Blue compilations.

“Now And Then,” written and sung by John Lennon in 1978 and developed and worked on by Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, was finally finished by Paul and Ringo 45 years later.

For years, it looked like the song could never be completed. But in 2022, de-mixing technology developed by Jackson and his team, used throughout the production of the documentary series The Beatles: Get Back, finally opened the way for the uncoupling of Lennon’s vocals from his piano part.

A 12-minute documentary film tells the story behind the last Beatles song, with exclusive footage and commentary from Paul, Ringo, George, Sean Ono Lennon and Jackson.
