Sally Nugent and Jon Kay present BBC Breakfast<\/h3>\n

BBC Breakfast presenter Sally Nugent has been praised by viewers for \u201csoldiering on\u201d through an apparent illness while presenting the show this morning.<\/p>\n

The star was visibly battling a seasonal cold as she hosted the flagship news show alongside host Jon Kay.<\/p>\n

Although she looked fine in a pale pink trouser suit with a white tee underneath, with her hair in its usual sleek style and picture-perfect make-up, her voice gave her away as she had the trademark “bunged up” sound that accompanies a cold.<\/p>\n

Ever the professional she gamely carried on and conducted interviews with guests including former cricketer Stuart Broad.<\/p>\n

However, fans sympathised with her working while ill and took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to comment.<\/p>\n

A viewer with the handle @_John_Stephens_admitted that he was also ill writing: \u201c@sallynugent well done for soldiering on today! I believe we may have the same cold!!\u201d<\/p>\n

@Steeley1968 was extremely impressed that she carried on saying: \u201cShout out to @sallynugent who presented @BBCBreakfast full of a cold! Proper, trooper!!! Go Sal!!\u201d<\/p>\n

Someone with the handle @Kazwags had nothing but sympathy for the stricken presenter. \u201cHow ill does Sally sound this morning, I think she needs a lemsip and to go home to rest #BBCBreakfast.”<\/p>\n

However, @BCollier2012 was slightly sceptical that it was actually a cold commenting: \u201c#bbcbreakfast Why has dreary Sally turned up at work with a stinking cold? Or is it covid?\u201d (sic)<\/p>\n

Express.co.uk has contacted BBC Breakfast for comment.<\/p>\n
