Good Morning Britain presenter Alex Beresford was brutally roasted by his dad Noel on the latest episode of Celebrity Race Across The World, after he claimed he worked two jobs to “make ends meet”.

On Wednesday night's episode, Alex and his dad were trying to catch up to the other teams as they were the last duo to reach the last checkpoint in Corsica, France.

On their way to their next checkpoint in Zermatt, they picked up some work in a wine vineyard in exchange for a nights stay to save some money.

While Alex was packing up the bottles of wine, he said it reminded him of the time when he used to work in a factory, which he worked alongside his TV gig at the time.

Alex said to his dad: "This actually takes me back to my job working in the factory, do you remember? I was working 6am until midday, then I would go to the autocue for the news in the afternoon."

Alex went on to say: "I had to work two jobs to make ends meet because they couldn't give me a full-time job."

His dad suddenly interrupted and called his son's bluff, as he said: "Two jobs to make ends meet? You was living at home, you never paid a penny keeping, what you on about?"

Alex then let out a small giggle.

After making their way through Italy into Switzerland, Alex and Noel ended up arriving in second place at the next checkpoint. Upon discovering that they were no longer in last place, the duo were seen jumping in the air with joy, screaming and hugging one another.

Alex and Noel are currently racing against McFly’s Harry Judd, All Saints singer Melanie Blatt and racing driver and pundit Billy Monger as they travel 10,000 kilometres over the course of a month.

Speaking ahead of the show's debut, Alex said that while it was a "huge privilege" to take his dad on the trip, he was tempted to take his wife Imogen.

"My wife Imogen really wanted to come, but we’d only been married for four or five weeks,” he said. “I thought that would be a lot of pressure to put our relationship under – we might snap at each other more.

"Whereas with my dad, I knew there was going to be that level of respect. There's only so far you can push it before he gives me a clip around the ear!"

Celebrity Race Across the World airs on Wednesday’s at 9pm on BBC One.
