Platinum-selling pop star Cat Burns has delivered a unique performance – in an Amazon fulfilment centre.<\/p>\n
To celebrate the 10th year of its apprenticeship scheme, the retailer staged the gig for employees and apprentices alongside 200 members of careers development platform Apprentice Nation.<\/p>\n
After talking about her own career journey with host and Capital Radio DJ, Remel London, Cat Burns and her band performed a live set including her hits Go and People Pleaser.<\/p>\n
It comes after research of 1,036 parents of children in Years 10-13 found 86 percent believed an apprenticeship would provide their child with a good chance of getting a permanent job.<\/p>\n
While 82 percent think an apprenticeship provided good earnings potential.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Double-platinum-selling Cat Burns said: \u201cIt\u2019s been amazing to support young people with Apprentice Nation and celebrate 10 years of Amazon apprenticeships.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo much of my own journey has been about \u2018learning on the job\u2019 and I know how valuable it is to have relatable mentors to offer support along the way.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis event has shown just how powerful the combination of music and mentorship can be.\u201d<\/p>\n
In addition to the concert, attendees were given a tour of the centre, which is equipped with advanced Amazon robotics technology, to experience a behind the scenes look at what happens when they click \u2018buy\u2019 on the site.<\/p>\n
The Apprentice Nation members, aged between 16 and 25, also took part in career development activities and a mass mentoring session with Amazon apprentices, employees and industry leaders from Lucozade and Havas, sharing their career stories and advice.<\/p>\n
Amazon\u2019s UK country manager, John Boumphrey, said: \u201cWe are exceptionally proud to be celebrating 10 years of our apprenticeship programme, providing opportunities for upskilling and retraining for people of all ages, at all stages of their careers.\u00a0<\/p>\n
