Piers Morgan delivered his own verdict on the audience\u2019s response to his National Television Awards nomination and appearance at London\u2019s O2 on Tuesday night.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The 58-year-old was thought to have been booed as he was introduced by the night\u2019s host Joel Dommett, 38 \u2013 however, he claimed that was most definitely not the case.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Losing out on taking home the gong for the best TV interview to Graham Norton, the star reflected on his evening during his TalkTV segment on Wednesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Piers slammed the idea he was hissed at by the star-studded crowd and suggested the supposed negative reaction was intended for the evening\u2019s MC rather than himself.<\/p>\n
He said on Piers Morgan Uncensored: \u2018It didn\u2019t sound like that in the room, this is what happened,\u2019 and proceeded to play reruns of the moment from the award show.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Following the footage, he turned to his panel guests and exclaimed: \u2018I haven\u2019t heard cheering like that since One Direction re-formed.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n

He went on to deliver what he thought was the cause of the \u2018low-level smattering of boos\u2019 during the segment.<\/p>\n
The star suggested: \u2018I think it was aimed at this host, this guy who I\u2019d literally never heard of \u2013 does anyone know who he is?\u2019<\/p>\n
Confusion ensued as the show\u2019s guests struggled to identify Joel to which Piers replied: \u2018So none of us know his name, this guy, he had two whacks at me, I think they were just booing the badness of the jokes.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u2018When it came to actually celebrating our show as you heard, just a standing ovation, right up there\u2026 although I wouldn\u2019t compare it to The Beatles, I just did,\u2019 he concluded.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The broadcaster went on to thank his viewers for their continued support and vowed to win next time, later on in his show admitting losing to Graham \u2018p***es [him] off\u2019.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Piers left fans confused earlier on during the NTAs as he shared a picture of himself travelling to the venue on a packed tube.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He posted the image to his Instagram account and grimaced as commuters crowded into the carriage while he clutched the handrail and a bottle of water in his free hand.\u00a0<\/p>\n
