With the new Galaxy Z Flip 5 model signifying innovation and new possibilities in daily communication, Samsung turns the spotlight on those breaking boundaries in their own fields. The two-part campaign series touches on art, fashion and sport in the Middle East, kicking off with a look into racing with the first Emirati woman racerAmna Al Qubaisi.

As the first female Middle Eastern motorsport driver, Al Qubaisi has changed the face of the sport and, more generally, sporting for women in the region. For the new episode, Samsung goes behind the scenes of her workshop, exploring the mindset that allows her to go “beyond limits” every day to achieve new goals and inspire others. Flipping open the new Galaxy Z Flip5, Al Qubaisi begins by saying, “One can’t defy societal expectations by being rigid, yet being flexible isn’t listening to others’ expectations.”

Being faced with new challenges, both on and off the tracks, the racer has made her mark by shifting traditional norms and turning them into new possibilities. “It did take a lot of persistence to get to where I am,” she explains. Having joined the sport back in 2014 for the Rotax Max Challenge, and now competing with the F1 academy, Al Qubaisi shows no signs of slowing down. Her approach isn’t one that intentionally goes against the grain, instead, stays true to her own passions.

To honor Al Qubaisi’s trailblazing efforts in the sport, Samsung collaborated with UAE international artist Dina Saadi to create a series of artworks seen on a collection of customized Galaxy accessories. Using the Galaxy Tab S9 and S-Pen, she references checkered flags, helmets and other motifs of the race tracks in the illustrations amongst her signature vibrant splashes of color referencing UAE tradition and culture.
