What are the sexual allegations made against Kevin Spacey?
Kevin will not be charged over an alleged sexual assault in 1992.
The actor had been accused of abusing a man in West Hollywood.
But LA prosecutors said too much time had elapsed and it was now outside California’s statute of limitations.
In legal documents, they said: “An analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the evidence is not warranted.”
Spacey is still under investigation for a new sex assault case in LA.
The Met had probed six allegations against him — including three received by police between February and April of 2018.
One is alleged to have occurred in Westminster in 1996, another in Lambeth in 2008 and a third in Gloucester in 2013.
In June, 2019, an unidentified man – who claimed to have been groped by the star in a popular bar – had struggled to find the phone that could potentially be central to his case against the Hollywood icon.
Kevin's lawyers had previously accused the individual of deleting messages from the mobile device before making screenshots that would go on to portray the actor in a negative light.
Apparently, Kevin and the alleged victim communicated through text messages, and while a judge ordered to have the mobile phone handed over to the defence team by June 21, the deadline was later extended to July 8 due to the unforeseen circumstance.
If the device has not been turned in by then, the judge requested that the defendant and his mother both appear in court and explain why they've had difficulty in tracing the phone.
Spacey faces a charge of indecent assault and battery.
On July 6, 2019, the Metropolitan Police confirmed they had flown out to the USA in May to interview him in relation to six more allegations of sexual assault between 1996 and 2013 which took place in the UK.
Spacey was interviewed voluntarily and has not been arrested.
A spokeswoman for the Met Police said: "In May 2019, a man was voluntarily interviewed under caution in America, by officers from the Met's Complex Case Team.
"He was not arrested. Inquiries are ongoing."
Spacey denies the allegations.
When did Kevin Spacey come out as gay?
Spacey had been followed by rumours about his sexuality for much of his career.
Following the allegation made by Antony Rapp — who claimed that Spacey sexually assaulted him when he was 14 — the actor revealed that he is gay.
The allegation “has encouraged me to address other things in my life,” Spacey wrote.
“I have loved and had romantic encounters with men throughout my life, and I now choose to live life as a gay man.”
He added: “I want to deal with this honestly and openly and that starts with me examining my own behaviour.”
