BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker was quick to apologise on Saturday’s Strictly Come Dancing after accidentally hitting his dance partner. Nadiya Bychkova had to stop mid-dance during their training session when Dan struck her in the face.

On Saturday night fans saw a glimpse of Dan’s training through the week as he prepared for his gladiator themed Paso Doble.

Dan told viewers: “Nadiya tells me I am an intense gladiator so I’m working on my intensity.

“I think I might be going a bit too far. I just gave Nadiya a bit of a wallop in the chops,” he confessed.

“Did I hit your teeth? I’m so sorry,” Dan said after accidentally hitting his dance partner.

“Don’t worry,” Nadiya said, as Dan laughed: “I thought I’d broken your nose.”

“It needs a bit of correction and you’ll be alright,” Nadiya told the BBC Breakfast presenter.

Dan remarked: “I won’t be a violent gladiator okay? I’ll just reduce the elbows a little bit.”

But, Nadiya swiftly replied: “No, no, we do need your elbows as long as they’re not into my face.”

“Is it a bad time to mention that my elbow hurts?” Dan asked, laughing at his accident.
