[Spoiler alert: Spoilers for Season 24, Episode 7 ahead.]
There’s a lot going on with Peter Weber’s season of The Bachelor, and many viewers consider it the most dramatic season yet. We’ve seen plenty of tears, fights, and confessions so far. And now, Weber’s getting down to the wire — and he’s starting to fall in love with at least one of the final women.
Victoria Fuller caught Weber’s eye early on. And while she and Weber have already had conflict, he kept her around instead of Kelley Flanagan. Flanagan and Weber met prior to The Bachelor while they were staying in the same hotel, and her maturity and intelligence captivated Weber enough to ask her to be on the show. And Flanagan certainly didn’t expect to go home when she did.
Now, we’re seeing Flanagan post sweet messages to Fuller despite putting her down privately to the cameras. Here’s what’s going on.
Peter Weber sent Kelley Flanagan home during a 3-on-1 date
Weber’s decisions are getting more and more difficult as he approaches the end of his season. And Flanagan had many fans early on, as she seemed smart, independent, and ready for marriage. While she never had aspirations of being on The Bachelor, she thought fighting for Weber’s love was worth it. And during her three-on-one date alongside Fuller and Hannah Ann Sluss, she told the cameras she expected a rose.
To everyone’s surprise, Weber chose to send her home and keep Sluss and Fuller.
“Does it suck? Yeah. Do I agree with it? No. I question his intentions because I don’t know what phase he is in his life,” Screenrant notes Flanagan told the cameras as she left.
As for how Weber feels, he told Entertainment Tonight that he had “high hopes” for their relationship, but it “wasn’t meant to be.”
Flanagan received a lot of flack for shaming the other women
There’s no doubt Flanagan’s smart, and she definitely seemed ready for a long-term relationship with Weber. But she also shamed the other women on the show for not having her same credentials. Screenrant reminds us she said Sluss wasn’t in the right “phase” of life for Weber, and she called Fuller a “hot mess” for crying all the time. And she also described the remaining women as “babies” and “children.”
“The four that are left are, like, little babies. I don’t really know who they are. Are you a child or an adult?” Flanagan noted before leaving.
Many fans aren’t happy with her words. And Tyler Cameron, the runner-up on Hannah Brown’s Bachelorette season, also found her superiority inappropriate.
“How dare you job shame those girls Kelly… I didn’t have a job when I came on the show!! #FuriousGeorge,” Cameron tweeted. He tweeted again, “From what I’ve seen and heard I think Kelley is a bad ass, but for those saying she’s right about calling the others girls out because they don’t have an elevated job are wrong. We all are on different journeys and time tables of successs, who are we to judge others journey.”
She’s now leaving nice messages to Victoria Fuller
It seems Flanagan might be maintaining a good relationship with the women post-production. Fuller posted a photo of herself in evening wear to Instagram on Feb. 16, and Flanagan commented with fire emojis. “Okkkkk, I see you,” Flanagan added.
To that, Fuller responded, “mama,” with a heart.
Flanagan also added fire emojis to a photo Fuller added of her and her dog on Feb. 15.
Given the backlash Fuller is experiencing due to her controversial “White Lives Matter” photos, it’s even more interesting that Flanagan would reach out to Fuller so publicly.
It seems since Flanagan’s elimination, she’s extending an olive branch to the other women despite her insults. Given Fuller’s responses, she seems to have forgiven Flanagan. We’re excited to hear more about what Flanagan has to say during the Women Tell All special. For now, we’ll keep an eye on her Instagram activity to see who she’s still keeping in touch with after the show.
