The Apprentice's Fran Bishop reveals she's split from her husband after discovering he had a secret affair
THE Apprentice star Frances Bishop split from her husband Neal Bishop after finding out he cheated on her.
Fran posted the shocking news on Instagram saying she "stayed silent" for months after learning about her footballer husband's infidelity.
The entrepreneur enjoyed a glass of red wine as she decided to answer fan questions on her Instagram stories.
While many of her followers asked about her time on the BBC show, one person asked why she stopped posting about Neal, a semi-professional midfielder.
Fran then dropped the bombshell the couple were separated after his cheating scandal, but were still raising their son, Oscar, seven, together.
She wrote: "Ok. So I've been getting a lot of these messages and I've stayed silent on the matter for a really long time.
"I don't believe in sharing personal details especially when I'm trying to work through them myself.
"My husband had an affair last year, and I only found out in January. I really struggled in the aftermath processing what had happened & with my mental health."
Fran continued: "We've since separated, however we are on really good terms. Our main priority is co-parenting Oscar and ensuring he knows he has two parents who love him very, very much.
"Children shouldn't have to pay for parents' mistakes, and I'm a firm believer that families come in so many different forms there is no "normal" anymore."
She then revealed she "posted this with @nbisho's permission!".
The couple welcomed Oscar in 2013 when Fran was just 20 years old and they then got married in 2014.
Fran who described herself as the "anti-wag" rose to fame on the 12th series of the BBC Apprentice in 2016.
She launched The Pud Store in 2014, a group of high-street stores that sell discount children’s wear outlet.
Along with separating from Neal, it's been a tough year for Fran after her NHS nurse mother-in-law was mugged at knifepoint in April.
Gillian Bishop was rammed from her bike on Tuesday while travelling home from a shift at Queens Park Medical Centre in Stockton.
She was finishing her first shift back at the Queens Park Medical Centre in Stockton since recovering from Covid-19 symptoms.
Fran wrote on Twitter at the time: "Absolutely disgusting what’s happened to my Mother-In-Law yesterday. Neal is distraught.
