Sid Sumner (Billy Price) will no doubt be devastated in Hollyoaks when he discovers that Jordan Price (Connor Calland) is dead.
Jordan was tasked with murdering both Sid and Juliet Nightingale (Niamh Blackshaw) after villainous Victor Brothers (Benjamin O’Mahony) ordered him to prove his loyalty.
In emotional scenes, Jordan ultimately did the right thing, and allowed them both to live — pleading with Sid to escape the drugs game and make something of himself.
After Sid and Juliet’s departure, Jordan was killed during a struggle with Charlie Dean (Charlie Behan) and Ella Richardson (Erin Palmer).
Sid evidently thought a lot of Jordan, and recently admitted to having idolised him when he was younger, so it’s safe to assume that he will struggle when he learns of his cousin’s death.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk about Sid’s future, actor Connor Calland — who portrayed Jordan — said: ‘I think it’s going to be another strain for Sid, losing another family member.
‘He’s going to have to find some sort of positive male role model to look up to, and I think it’s a good opportunity for Ste to step out and to take on that role for him.
‘I think we’re already starting to see that, even over the last few weeks. As long as he surrounds himself with positive people, I think Sid’s going to fly high.’
Sid has been through a lot since his arrival in the eponymous village — from being instrumental in far-right extremist dad Stuart’s (Chris Simmons) death, to losing his leg after a devastating accident occurred while he was on drugs.
As Connor said, Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) has stepped up since he returned to the village, and has therefore made it his mission to support Sid.
