Piers Morgan has said that the late Princess Diana would be "horrified" by the rift between her sons Prince Harry and Prince William.

The former Good Morning Britain host took part in his tell-all interview with Fox Nation's Tucker Carlson in the US on Monday night, and he didn't hold back at all.

The 56-year-old said: "You know, I knew Princess Diana well and I think she'd be horrified by the split between Harry and his brother.

"I think by the schism now between Harry and the royal family generally, by the appalling smearing of the Queen, which is already causing damage in some of the commonwealth countries who were buying in to this outrageous lie that the Queen is somehow racist, presiding over a racist institution."

While Piers was quick to slam Meghan Markle's words, he was complementary of her husband Harry.

He said: "This guy went to war and, you know, my brother-in-law, my sister's husband, taught Harry at the Sandhurst Military Academy and said he was a fine young soldier and a very courageous man."

Of course, the praise didn't continue much longer, as he quipped: "What's happened to that guy?"

He went on: "What's happened to that guy, that he's turned into this whiny brat in his mid-30s complaining his dad isn't still financing everything that he does, complaining he was cut off by daddy and his millions.

"Actually, that wasn't true either. It turns out Prince Charles had carried on financing him. And remember, Harry inherited millions when his mother died."

Harry spoke of his and Meghan's financial situation in the bombshell interview they did with Oprah Winfrey earlier this year.

It was the same interview which led to Piers' exit from Good Morning Britain, after he said he "didn't believe" what Meghan said.

The former Suits star said that she had been denied help from higher-ups when she was seriously struggling with her mental health, and that a member of the family had asked Harry about their then-unborn son Archie's skin colour.

Piers was met by deafening viewer backlash, more than 50,000 Ofcom complains and even one from Meghan herself.

He quit the morning show the afternoon after a blazing takedown from Alex Beresford, which saw Piers walk out of the studio too.

But it's clear Piers has plenty left to say, as seen in his interview with Tucker Carlson.

In it, he also said he was "disappointed" by the way Susanna Reid had acted after his exit from the show.
