PEAKY Blinders director has shut down an Oswald Mosley and Gina Grey sex fan theory ahead of season six.
The season five finale saw Oswald (Sam Claflin) have sex with a mystery blonde before his final address at the British Union of Fascists rally.
While viewers didn't see the blonde's face, many speculated it could be Gina Grey (Anya Taylor-Joy), wife of Michael Grey, Tommy Shelby's cousin.
However director Anthony Byrne, who directed season five and is returning for season six, has shot down any fan hopes of an illicit romance between the pair.
Speaking to Digital Spy, he said: "I would've shown Anya Taylor-Joy, there would have been a reason, it would have been more shocking to see her and know once and for all.
"But no, I don't remember her name, she was a really lovely woman who came in and did that scene."
Anthony admitted sex scenes are always difficult, but even more so when one of the people involved is only on set for that day, as opposed to a series regular.
He continued: "It's just those conversations, working out the action and making sure at every point both people know exactly what is going to happen.
"So nothing is improvised at all, and then [it's] creating a kind of comfortable environment on the set. "But it definitely wasn't Anya Taylor Joy and it certainly wasn't a stand-in for her character. So yeah, no is the answer."
Meanwhile, Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight recently revealed how Jason Statham had originally been lined up to play lead character Tommy Shelby.
Cillian Murphy plays the head of the Shelby family in the BBC drama but Steven admitted Jason, 52, was his original choice for the role.
However Cillian sent a crucial text message at the right moment which changed Steven's mind, and he cast him instead.
Peaky Blinders is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
