Ozark season four, part one will be airing on Netflix in the near future and it has been a long time coming for fans. News of the fourth and final season was announced back in June 2020 but the latest instalment has only just come to fruition. Express.co.uk has all you need to know about the first part of Ozark season four.
When is Ozark season 4 out?
On October 19, 2021, the official Facebook account for Ozark revealed the release date for the final season.
They said: “There’s no turning back. Ozark Season 4 Part 1 premieres January 21, 2022.”
This means the final instalment will provide fans with the perfect New Year treat as they see Marty (played by Jason Bateman) and Wendy Byrde (Laura Linney) return.
Filming for season four began back in November 2020, but fans started to get impatient as the new episodes did not air at the start of 2021.
Season three aired in March 2020, so viewers were hoping for an early 2021 release, and they were left disappointed.
However, they have taken to social media to express their excitement now that a date has finally been set.
Chris Aindow said: “Cant wait best series that’s ever been on Netflix.”
Jay Gunn added: “Good grief at last been waiting soo long! Will it all be there in one go or is it gonna be one a week and be like pins in my eyes waiting each week!”
The final season will consist of 14 episodes and it will be split into two parts, with eight episodes in each half.
All eight episodes of part one should arrive at the same time, so fans can binge their way through.
Is there a trailer for Ozark season 4?
Yes, when Netflix announced the release date, they shared an official trailer hinting at what is to come.
The trailer says: “Money, at its essence that measure of a man’s choices.”
Navarro (Felix Solis) is heard saying: “Today is a beginning” as he escorts Wendy and Marty following the shocking death of Helen Pierce (Janet McTeer).
Other quotes are heard in the video, including: “Broken promises got consequences” and “sometimes, if you don’t move forward, you die.”
Fans continued to share their thoughts on the latest update, with Diane Scheig saying: “I wish it wasn’t the last season…..this is a great show.”
Samantha Epley Baker added: “Can’t wait! Sucks we have to wait until next year but at least we get two parts!”
Ashley Ingram commented: “When the first trailer/clip was released last month, I thought it was coming back later this year, and said… damn 2022 is so far away.
“But the way these last few months/the rest of this year is flying bye that’ll be here before we know it.
“I know it’s gonna go fast though if I binge, which I will. But can’t wait.” [Sic]
There is no official reason as to why the series will be ending with the fourth season.
But it has led to many fans wondering whether the Byrdes will survive until the very end.
If the series is to go out with a bang, there may well be some shocks and surprises in store for the family.
Viewers have already labelled the final season as “very dark” and they believe it will be “the best season” yet.
The first eight episodes should be available to watch from midnight on January 21 in the US and 8am the same day in the UK.
