Lucifer season five, part one will premiere on Friday, August 21 on Netflix worldwide. The news was confirmed on Monday, June 22 alongside a 66.6-second video of Lucifer Morningstar’s (played by Tom Ellis) best bits. Fans have been speculating which characters will meet their death in the final series after the Deadline synopsis teased ‘Secrets will be revealed, beloved characters will die.’ Express.co.uk has everything you need to know.
Who will die in Lucifer season 5?
At the end of Lucifer season four, the devil himself returned to rule of hell, leaving behind his true love, Chloe Decker (Lauren German) on Earth.
Despite Lucifer’s return to Earth, showrunners Idly Modrovich and Joe Henderson, alongside actors Tom Ellis and Lauren German have confirmed that Deckerstar will be reunited.
However, exactly how they reunite remains unknown for now but judging by the synopsis for the fifth season, there will be some deaths along the way.
The synopsis teases: The series follows Ellis’ Lucifer who is bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell.
“He resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD — specifically detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German).

“In the fifth season, the stakes are higher than ever.
“Secrets will be revealed, beloved characters will die, and we’ll finally get an answer to the question, ‘will they, or won’t they?’”
Over the past four seasons, almost all of the series main characters – Lucifer, Chloe, Ella (Aimee Garcia), Dan (Kevin Alejandro), Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) Eve (Inbar Lava) and Linda (Rachael Harris) have faced death head-on.
No one has came more closer than Chloe, who most memorably faced death in season three and had to be saved by Lucifer.
As a result, in the season three finale, she saw his true devil face.
Fans have taken to Twitter and Reddit to share their theories on who will die in the final series. Express.co.uk has a full recap of the most popular theories.
In season four of Lucifer, Lucifer Morningstar realised that Eve (Inbar Lavi) was not his true love.
Lucifer soon realised that around LAPD Detective, Chloe Decker, he was vulnerable, meaning he lost his supernatural abilities and his immortality.
As seen in season four, when around Chloe, Lucifer can be injured and bleed significantly. However, around Eve and others, he would survive any injury.
As a result, many fans are worried that Lucifer could be the one to die in the fifth series, considering he and Chloe will be reunited.
Reddit user Virulent_Hitman said: “So in season 1 and 2 we saw that if Lucifer died, he had no means of getting himself back to earth.
“Season 1 he had to use a Pentecostal coin to get back and season 2 Linda had to shock him back to life.
“My question is was this only because Lucifer didn’t have his wings in those seasons?”
They added: “Like if he were to get shot and die in season 3 in one of the instances where he was near Chloe, couldn’t he just fly back up to earth from hell and inhabit his body again?
“If Lucifer has his wings is death permanent for him?”

Many Lucifer fans believe Chloe will be the one to die during the fifth series of Lucifer.
Many believe her death will see her and Lucifer reunited in hell.
Lucifer will be able to then bring Chloe back to life and return to Earth.
One Reddit user shared: “I think Chloe dies on earth in a cop shootout and goes to Hell for loving Lucifer, but her body gets possessed by Lilith and she meets Lucifer in Hell.
“Lucifer notices Lilith is missing and together they go back to earth to reclaim Chloe’s body and bring Lilith back to Hell, and then either Chloe becomes queen of Hell alongside Lucifer, or they make something up for why she can go back to earth (Maybe with Gods Help?)
“And everything goes back to normal, with lucifer occasionally having set vacations to earth.”

Trixie (Scarlett Estevez) is the daughter of Chloe and Dan (Kevin Alejandro) who has a close bond with Lucifer.
If Trixie did die, it would devastate fans as the youngster has become a fan favourite over the years.
Reddit user LorienTheFirstOne posted: “Trixie dies in S5 E1 and goes to Hell. Lucifer feels bad and breaks her out of Hell and that’s why he comes back to Earth.”
Exactly why Trixie would go to hell in the first place is questionable, but the Reddit user did point out Lucifer believes innocent people do end up in hell.
They continued: “In the Lucifer version of hell many innocent people go to hell. You only have to feel guilty, not be guilty of something.
“Kids are bad all the time and often feel guilty. Heck, kids of divorce often blame themselves for the split of their parents even when it’s not their fault.”
Fans will have to wait until Friday, August 21 to find out exactly what will happen in Lucifer season five.
