Love Island recap: What happened on Love Island last night?

Francesca Allen may have coupled up with Curtis Pritchard in the most recent recoupling but on Love Island last night (Friday, July 12) on ITV2 that did not stop Maura from trying it on with him. Love Island last night also saw Amber Gill and Chris Taylor show their first sign of bonding. ITV2 viewers who missed Love Island last night can read on for a full recap of day 35.

What happened on Love Island last night?

The episode began with the fallout of the last recoupling.

Marvin Brooks has just been dumped, while Maura is not happy Francesca chose Curtis.

Maura makes her feeling very clear, telling Curtis: “She’s never going to make you laugh the way I do.”

She even asks the dancer for a back massage later, something Francesca said she found: “Disrespectful.”

As for Curtis, he just cannot choose between the two girls.

In the episode, we see him tell Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague: “I don’t want to rush it but I know I need to get a move on because I’ll push them both away.

“I wish one of them was horrible, it would make the decision so much easier!”

Francesca, however, is as keen as Maura, saying in the Beach Hut: “I do think our personalities are really similar.

“I haven’t really found someone before that is as positive and silly and giggly as me.”

Talking of silly, the Love Island boys take part in their latest task last night.

They have to visit a supermarket and buy food for a slap-up meal, something Tommy admitted he had never done before.

In another Fury fail, he cannot tell the difference between asparagus and green beans.

While Tommy and Jordan Hames buy vegetables, Anton Danyluk is fruity, flirting with the shopkeeper and putting his phone number on the receipt.

Anton and the shopkeeper were not the only couple who blossomed on last night’s Love Island, however.

Amber and Chris bond over their love of fantasy films, with Chris saying he loves Harry Potter, while Amber admits a fondness for Lord of the Rings.

However, is this enough of a connection to allow him to Slytherin to her affections? Will Amber soon be calling Chris “my precious”?

Love Island fans will have to keep tuning in to ITV2 to find out.
