Love Island 2019: ‘Clearly you hold a grudge’ Amber realises REAL reason Michael recoupled

Tonight’s explosive episode jumped straight back in to where last night’s edition of the ITV2 reality show left off, and it was devastating.

Amber, 21, put on a brave face and attempted to laugh off her heartbreak on Love Island, claiming she’d had a “sneaky” feeling Michael would pie her off for someone else to presenter Caroline Flack.

But as her head continued to spin, she and Michael finally had a sit down and talked things through.

During the recoupling, Michael shared: “Everytime I say something to you, you laugh in my face which I think is really disrespectful.”

And it wasn’t long before Amber revisited this in their chat, and couldn’t hide her confusion over his earlier comments.

“I just feel if I’m totally honest with you, that biting your tongue thing has come out of the blue,” she explained. “And laughing in your face, that was one incident.

“I thought it was squashed but clearly you hold a grudge.”

And on Michael’s suggestions that she laughed in his face as a sign of disrespect, Amber continued: “It’s just what I do, it’s not out of disrespect for anyone because I had loads of respect for you.

“Maybe it was wrong of me to just assume you understood the way that I was and I should have said ‘look I’m not being disrespectful, just laughing in these situations because it’s a bit awkward or I don’t really know what to say’.

“I’m not sure why I laugh but it’s certainly not out of disrespect… I assumed you knew me a lot more than you did.”

Later, Michael was puzzled over how Amber’s friends Molly-Mae Hague and Anna Vakili responded to him returning with another girl.

He seemed upset as he said he thought the girls were “also his friends”, but Amber assured him he just needed to give them some space and let them be upset for their friend.

Michael wasn’t happy with Amber’s answer and continued to lay the blame on her as the conversation continued to get even more difficult to watch.

“You never really allowed me to open up to you because you didn’t really open up to me,” he told the beautician. “That’s the ultimate point.”

Unable to stop herself crying with Anna and Molly-Mae, Amber sobbed: “I don’t have to speak to him anymore. What am I supposed to say, he said ‘I knew you’d laugh.’

“Do you want me to break down in front of everyone? His whole attitude and demeanor has totally changed and if that’s really him then I’m disappointed,” she added.

Anna firmly had Amber’s back on the show, and said she didn’t even know who Michael was, claiming he was a “completely different person.

The islander declared: “Michael is the last person I would have expected this from.

“This isn’t the Michael I know, this isn’t the Michael I left behind, I don’t know who this is.”

Also in tonight’s episode, ITV Hub suffered technical difficulties and viewers ended up missing some of the drama.

Love Island continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2.
