Line of Duty fans are counting down the minutes until tomorrow’s season finale – but with the identity of ‘H’ still to be revealed, some eagle-eyed viewers have a new theory as to exactly who it could be.
Sunday night will spell the end of the most action-packed season yet, with the future of several characters still unclear going forward.
But with AC12 finally now closing in on the so-called fourth man, H, could the information really have been there all along?
It seems Dot Cottan’s (played by Craig Parkinson) dying declaration may still hold the key to revealing the name – but in a slightly different way to what was previously believed.
Dot was famously shot at the end of season three after he was discovered to be the caddy for the OCG.
In his final moments, it was believed he had offered up a clue in Morse Code to Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure).
However, one particularly observant fan thinks the anti corruption unit has misunderstood Dot’s dying declaration as being Morse Code, when there’s perhaps something else at play.
They suggested it could actually point to something called Tap Code in a massive U-turn.
User Top-Act6191 posted on Reddit: “So they made a big thing in the last episode of season 5 about dots dying declaration being morse code.
"I actually think this was something called ‘Tap Code’ which is used by prisoners, so fits with dots OCG links.
“Dot tapped 4 times, paused and then tapped another 4 times which gives the letter T. Thurwell.

"He also may have been in fact blinking the second letter with his eyes as he already gave the first letter clue, H, which fits with Thurwell."
In response to what could be a key discovery, user Dolly1710 wrote: “I didn't notice it myself, but another poster said apparently Carmichael was tapping during the interview. Did you spot this and could it also be Tap Code?
“Saw her tap a couple of times, but can’t work anything out! Could be a red herring,” the opening poster replied.
Last weekend’s epic instalment saw AC12 finally start to close in on Marcus Thurwell (James Nesbitt), who they believe is the key to uncovering information about the OCG.

But when police arrived at his suspected residence in sunny Spain, he was found dead alongside a woman.
Could it be the case AC12 have finally found their man in the form of Thurwell or will there be another huge twist to come?
In reply to the Reddit post, some users have suggested other initials that fit in with the letters T and H.
User Atticus444 commented: “Ted Hastings?” to which the opening poster noted: “Oh mother of god that also works!”
User i_hate_pigeons joked: “Tommy Hunter – through a medium perhaps?”
