James Bond 25 opening scene REVEALED as Daniel Craig’s 007 shoot set to move to Italy?
So far James Bond 25 has been shooting in Norway, Jamaica, Central London and interior scenes at Pinewood Studios. Next up, Daniel Craig and co will be heading to Matera in southern Italy for filming in August and September. Spotted by MI6 HQ, the local press office of the Municipality of Gravina in Puglia reports that on Tuesday morning a preliminary meeting took place among local government officials. The press office wrote: “At the centre of the discussion, logistic and procedural issues to be dealt with to get ready.”
They continued: “For the moment, there is maximum discretion of the details, but it is now certain and – after the signing of the related agreements – now also official: Gravina will be involved in the filming for two months, next August and September.”
While Mayor Valente commented: “In a city that in recent years has already had the opportunity to open up to various national and international productions, we will now be facing James Bond.
“A further, prestigious stage for Gravina, which will once again be known and appreciated worldwide for its beauty and its history.
“An unparalleled opportunity to seize which we have been working for months already.”
Meanwhile, MI6 HQ reports that Bond 25’s opening sequence before the traditional credits sequence will be shot in Matera.
Allegedly, Léa Seydoux will return as Madeleine Swann “for the action-packed car chase, that takes place after 007 pays tribute to an old flame.”
It’s also unknown if the Spectre Bond girl will be in Bond 25 beyond this scene.
Some fans have speculated she will be killed off shortly after marrying Bond, reflecting the end of On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.
Meanwhile, original Bond 25 director Danny Boyle has revealed the direction he wanted to take 007 before leaving the project over “creative differences”.
Speaking with The Playlist, Boyle was asked about his personal relationship with the Bond franchise and it turns out he’s more into Ian Fleming’s novels than the movies.
The filmmaker said: “It was always the books for me and so when we were all talking together about what we were going to do, I was very clear that that was very much my take on it.”
Bond 25 will be released in UK cinemas on April 3, 2020.
