Adam Peaty opened up to Lorraine Kelly on Thursday as he and his Strictly Come Dancing partner Katya Jones appeared on the presenter’s ITV morning show to discuss their upcoming routine. The couple are preparing for their second dance on Saturday but the Olympic gold medallist revealed he was left fearing he “couldn’t walk” after a painful training session.

Lorraine began: “You have been rehearsing all morning both of you, haven’t you?”

“Yes we’ve been rehearsing very hard all week,” Adam replied. “It’s because we had two weeks to prepare for the Cha Cha, going into the Quickstep now literally my head’s everywhere, my feet are everywhere so hopefully we’ll get there I hope we will.”

“We will, we always will,” Katya added. “For celebrities going from two weeks of rehearsing and absolutely nailing that Cha Cha and now realising there are only three days to get the new routine, completely new style, frame, we’re doing ballroom, it’s quite overwhelming.”

“I’m not going to lie he’s been quite tired,” she added.

“Poor baby, you’ve got wee sore feet,” the ITV presenter remarked.

“Not wee sore, very sore feet,” Adam correct. “I woke up at 4am the other day and thought, ‘I don’t know if can walk today no mind dance.’

“Then I woke up again at half five, I got the blood going and I knew she wasn’t going to give me a day off so what’s the point in complaining.”
