A WOMAN who participated on Channel 4's The Great House Giveaway and refurbished a house with a complete stranger has revealed that she has retrained and found a new job.
The series see's two strangers who are not homeowners renovate a house bought at auction within six months on a budget.
If the project is a success, the partners split the earnings, or the house is put back up for auction.
Sami Fretwell and Lennon Boyle were given three houses to choose from.
They chose a three-bedroom end terrace in St Helens.
But the house needed some TLC, and Sami happened to be a painter and decorator.

As a result of Sami's decorating skills, the couple was able to transform their shabby house into a perfect family home.
Sami said that the experience inspired her to pursue a "plastering course" and gain more knowledge in her field.
She shared: "Since doing the show, I’ve actually put myself onto a plastering course. I bought myself new up-to-date tools…
"I'm more confident now to do that kind of thing if I need to. I've done whole walls, I've done some patch plastering."

The painter and decorator went on to say that her time on the show helped her gain confidence and develop new skills, such as "plastering a wall," which she now uses at work.
Sami continued: "It's all stuff that I felt like I needed to bring someone else in to do when I’ve been working, but now if there is a bit of a wall that needs skimming or patching before I can paint I can offer to do that myself and do the whole job in one go.
"I’m not waiting around and I'm earning a little bit more now on top."
After getting the renovation itch, the painter and decorator is now seeking the perfect house to do up.
