Hot off the heels of Spider-Man: Far From Home, Zendaya stars as Rue in HBO’s drama series Euphoria. This show, although it deals with heavy topics like addiction and mental illness, earned praise and recognition from viewers. Now, with a handful of episodes left in season 1, HBO renewed Euphoria for its second season. Fans, celebrities, and cast members expressed their excitement online, including Zendaya.

“Literally just got the call,” tweeted Zendaya. “Can’t say thank you enough for the support we’ve seen, wow…”

“[Shoutout to my] lil sis Zendaya and the entire cast from Euphoria,” tweeted Lebron James. “Love love love that show. Super dope and a real perspective of what these teenagers have to do with daily. I know it’s a show but real life. Parents please listen but more importantly just pay attention to signs!”

Episode four of ‘Euphoria’ reached a new viewership high

With only a few episodes under its belt, this HBO series draws in thousands of viewers each week. According to Showbuzz data, episode 4 drew in 0.61 million overall viewers. This is a series high in comparison to previous weeks. The week prior earned 0.49 million viewers — the first episode of Euphoria reached 0.58 million.

Of course, fans on Twitter promote and advocate for the series, one Twitter user stating, “watching Euphoria and Far From Home right afterwards, yes I laugh love live for Miss Zendaya and Miss Zendaya only.”

“HBO’s Euphoria might be the most eye-opening show on TV right now. It’s beautifully shot, and the performances by Zendaya and Hunter Schafer are Emmy worthy. And it’s Schafer’s acting debut. I can’t turn away,” said another Twitter user.

The cast for the first season of Euphoria includes Zendaya, Maude Apatow, Angus Cloud, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Nika King, Storm Reid, Hunter Schafer, Algee Smith, and Sydney Sweeney.

Euphoria creator Sam Levinson has built an incredible world with an extraordinary cast led by the supremely talented Zendaya,” Francesca Orsi, EVP, HBO Programming, said in a statement. “We are so grateful that he chose HBO as the home for this groundbreaking series. We look forward to following these complex characters as their journeys continue through the challenging world they inhabit.”
