Piers Morgan, 55, has made his view on how Prime Minister Boris Johnson, 55, has handled the coronavirus pandemic very clear over the past few months. Dr Hilary, 67, has rarely offered an opinion, however, rather focussing on providing expert medical advice to Good Morning Britain viewers. With the leader of the Conservative Party admitting he is just as confused as everyone else about the rules to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the two presenters clashed as they gave opposing views as to whether he is actually breaking the rules.

The outspoken host began his rant by addressing viewers directly, telling them: “If you’re somebody somewhere who has had your business decimated or your education ruined by this man’s rules and he not only doesn’t know the rules but he also breaks the rules he does know.”

A video then played of the Prime Minister visiting a wood workshop with no mask on and standing less than two metres away from another person.

“He’s just a bumbling fool and it’s got beyond a joke. This man is running the country in the biggest crisis, health-wise and economically that we’ve faced in our lifetime, he’s a bumbling fool who doesn’t even know his own rule of six,” the presenter continued.

“Something has got to change. We cannot be in this rudderless position with the captain of the titanic taking us down,” he added before Dr Hilary then jumped in.

The medical expert said he felt “sympathy” for Mr Johnson as the devolved nations of Great Britain are following different rules.

However, Morgan didn’t stand by his co-star’s comments as he declared Mr Johnson is the Prime Minister and he says the rules are “easy” to understand.

Susanna Reid, 49, then added: “When a minister is on the radio and can’t answer the question, surely the Prime Minister says, ‘Get me the exact script of the exact rules and I will clarify it for the nation’.”

“Sorry to be pedantic, but he said the rule of six was so simple, that’s why they brought it in,” Morgan continued as he spoke over the medical professional.

Dr Hilary explained that is what England has stuck too, with the outspoken presenter stating the North-East is in England where the number of coronavirus cases is spiking tenfold.

The medical expert noted his co-star’s concerns, but defended Mr Johnson once more by adding: “He did talk about local restrictions in parts of England.”

Referring to a speech the Prime Minister made yesterday where he forgot the rules, Dr Hilary admitted he did get it wrong.

Morgan snapped at his co-star: “Stop defending this clown.”
