Furious Gemma Collins breaks her silence after Samantha Giles apologises for punch threat and calls actress 'disgusting'

GEMMA Collins has slammed "disgusting" people who mock reality TV stars – insisting they're "jealous" of their money and success.

The Towie favourite poured scorn on Samantha Giles after the Emmerdale actress branded her "revolting" and joked that she'd "punch her" if they ever met.

Gemma, who lives in a huge £1.3million Essex mansion, today broke her silence after soap star Samantha issued a grovelling apology following her incredible red-carpet rant.

The 41-year-old exclusively told The Sun: "It’s just disgusting.

"All of us, who have been on reality TV, most of us, you know we have worked hard. Most of us have got million pound houses, we weren’t given them.

"We were given an opportunity. And we all thought, ‘hang on, we’ve got a moment to make some money, let’s go for it.’

"I wish her well. She apologised. I appreciate that. I’m not one to hold a grudge. But I was just sad, she said 'I’m going to punch another woman.'

"What for? Because I’ve got more money than you? And I’ve had a better career than you darling?"

Gemma stopped short of calling for disciplinary action but said she hoped Samantha had been taken to task by ITV bosses.

She added: "That just shows jealousy. And I hope Emmerdale and ITV … you know, you just can’t talk like that.

"Nothing’s wrong with reality stars."

Calling out all forms of prejudice, she said people who openly discriminate against others for whatever reason are part of a bigger problem.

Gemma said: "It's gutting because I loved (Samantha) in Emmerdale, I loved her character. At the end of the day, I’m going to tell it like it is.

"I became famous not through reading lines, not reading a script. I became famous because of my personality and people slagging off reality stars and looking down on reality stars, I’m going to just put it out there, it’s like being a racist.

"What’s wrong with reality stars? You’ve got all these private members clubs that don’t let you in because you’ve been on reality TV. Who do they think they are?"

Samantha, 50, gave her opinion on reality TV stars earlier this week, telling the Daily Star she "hadn't got a clue" who they were.

But turning her attentions to Gemma she went on: "That Gemma Collins, I think I’d punch her if I ever came across her.

"I don’t know – how can someone so talentless and revolting have made so much money?

"I wouldn’t mind if she’d give it away and did something good with it, but all she seems to do is put more s*** on her face and do her nails."

She later claimed her "joke" had been "misguided" – and said she "held her hands up" to her wrongdoing.

Gemma recently won a starring role in musical Chicago as Mama Morton, something that would likely annoy jobbing actress Samantha.

But Gemma unapologetically said: "Yes there are trained actors out there. Do they all have star quality, do they sell tickets? There are a lot of factors in this industry, it is a tough industry.

"Some of us are cut out for it more than others. I get the frustration, there were frustrations with me landing the role in Chicago, but at the end of the day The GC sells tickets."
