Ex Dancing On Ice ‘Mr Nasty’ judge Jason Gardiner quits showbiz to become an eco-friendly farmer

EX Dancing On Ice judge Jason Gardiner has quit showbiz – to become an eco-friendly farmer.

Jason, 46, has turned his back on fame after sensationally quitting DOI 16 months ago.

The acid-tongued star is now living in Portugal and has completed a biodiversity and sustainability course.

He now describes himself as a ‘Nomadic Permaculture Designer’.

But Jason has kept one toe in the showbiz water.

He also flogs videos of himself doing gymnastics to fans to make ends meet.

After signing up to the video-sharing website Cameo, Aussie dancer Jason charges £15 to show how flexible he is.

He also asks £8.24 for a time-limited online chat.

One fan who forked out later told him: “That was so worth £15. Thank you so much! You’re the best.”

Jason quit ITV1's Dancing On Ice in August 2019 amid rumours that bosses were “secretly plotting to replace him”.

It came after his notorious row with ex-Towie star Gemma Collins, which saw him tell her she looked like “a fridge”.

Last summer, after seeing work in the arts industry dry up due to the coronavirus pandemic, Jason packed his bags and flew to Spain for a new life away from the spotlight.

He completed a biodiversity, sustainability and eco-building farming course and moved to Portugal just before Christmas.

Jason’s main job is helping people to lead a more eco-friendly life.

Speaking about his life-changing move, he said: “I was very lucky during lockdown. A neighbour of mine kindly offered that I get to use her allotment.

“It changed my life. It was really quite profound and a beautiful experience. It put me on a different trajectory.

“We are moving towards being self-sufficient whether we like it or not.

“Being a grower of food and being sustainable is the future.”

The new series of Dancing On Ice kicks off this Sunday on ITV.
